Art licensing is a way for you to use my artwork in your business without purchasing it outright. For example, you may license one of my designs to use on a product you sell. Licenses can be exclusive or non-exclusive and are always for a set length of time.

With a non-exclusive license, you may use one of my designs on your products. The design may also be used by other businesses and may be offered for sale by me on sites such as Spoonflower. Copyright for all designs remains with me.

You do not need a license to sell items made from fabric featuring my designs when the fabric is purchased from Spoonflower

For an exclusive license, we will discuss and agree upon the specific terms for how the design may be used. Exclusive licenses are limited to a defined industry and territory.

For example, if a design is licensed exclusively for children’s apparel in the United States, I may still license the same design for children’s apparel in a different territory, or for a different product category, such as wallpaper or stationery, within the United States.

I retain full copyright and ownership of all designs.

At the end of the agreed licensing period, you will have the first right of renewal. If the license is not renewed, all rights to the design return to me, the artist.
